Moldova says to pick debt auditor to check debt to Gazprom soon
CHISINAU, Aug 10 (PRIME) -- Moldova plans to choose a company that will audit its debt to Russia's gas giant Gazprom soon, Infrastructure Minister Andrei Spinu said late on Tuesday.
"We have done our best for the audit to take place and we will get good news in a few days perhaps, it will become known whether we sign an audit contract,” he told a radio station in an interview.
“I expect that all documents related to possible debt are studied during the audit in order to understand whether there is debt or not and why."
Gazprom earlier estimated Moldova's debt at U.S. $440 million and $700 million with penalties. Moldova disagrees with the estimate.
